Geez, Dick, when are the lakes going to freeze? Had I known it was going to be so warm, so late in the year, I'd have stayed at our place on Sturgeon a lot longer!

Good question, Jack. I think the latest date recorded for freeze-up on Pelican here is December 15. Based on the current weather and the forecast for the next week we might just be in the running to break that record. This is new territory for me, though, so I can't even make a good guess right now.

Official freeze-up was December 19 - a new record for here.
We had a most unusual fall, Tom, including lots of rain in late November. When I went away for three weeks my boat was pulled up high and dry for the winter. When I got home the water was up and the Minnitaki Queen was afloat again.
Merry Christmas.
