Been coming up to lac seul for 30 years. Never ventured into Abram or Minnitaki. Interested in possibly trying it. Do you have any insight/opinions on the fishing/navigating?
Thank you

Ryan, I have made 31 trips up there since '93 and always camped at Abram. I haven't fished Abram or Minnitaki much as we usually fished Lost Lake, Vermillion and the bigger water of Lac Seul. But I did make a few trips up on MInnitaki with a friend who always took me up around the Donut Hole for Walleye. I think it is actually marked on a map or Navionics. I am sure you can find it with some searching. I do remember a huge reef coming out of the Chutes from Abram that jumps up from about 80'up towards the surface. I always just make a trail on my GPS going in to any of those lakes to make sure I can get out. We've hit a few reefs on Vermillion in the years past. Good luck

Hey Ryan, if you go to Dicks web site, and then to videos, you will see how to go thru the Abram chutes into Minnitaki. Dick does it with his pontoon in expert fashion, and also has a video cruising around Minnitaki and one going down the chutes. Hug the shore going up, and go hard left around the red buoy at the top,{ Red to the Right when Running up River}. Red pine bay is famous for walleye, after it opens. There is an infamous reef about a mile WSW of Harveys narrows, 3/4 of a mile offshore in 100' of water that is sometimes marked, often not. It is right on the way to Lyons and Troutfish bays, and Pickeral arm, which are all good places to fish. Below the chutes, on Abram is good for walleye, and on Pelican lake below Frog Rapids also,{ stay to south side of bridge support- again watch buoy at top, another hard left is needed}. We don't do much walleye anymore,{ northern and smallmouth}, but we always get a few just fishing. At the top of the chutes, go straight east to the islands, and you'll be where my brother got a 19" and I got a 19 1/2" smallie in 30 minutes. Andersons Lodge, { nice place to stay}, web site has a downloadable map of Minnitaki, Abrams, Pelican, etc., that is a great map. it enlarges easy, and you can see everything I mentioned. Buy one of these maps when you go, they are worth it.
